  • nic · 1 year ago
    where did you hear different?
  • veronica · 1 year ago
It said on crystal castles' myspace that it was an all ages show, but not anymore. and i thought the show in march was all ages, so is this one all ages? or not?
  • nic · 1 year ago

    is it really too late
  • dr ops · 1 year ago
jusy fyi..crystal castles stole not their sound but actual songs from independant artists refusing to credit them..there are about 6 examples so far of this in their songs..

    http://myspace.com/crystalthieves

best to know these things about the artists you might patronize

if you like the sounds they stole then check out the real deal at

All those tracks that "steal" sounds are from 2004 and are not supposed to be released.

The band stopped using samples in 2005.

When was sampling evil anyways? Daft Punk have made a career out of it, I think that's what you're afraid of, CC getting big even though they used to use sampels.
  • dr ops · 1 year ago
wrong. there are stolen uncredited tracks from the creative commons licensed chipscene on the official release too.. if these are old songs unintended for use then why did they so agressively put up these '2004' songs on myspace , youtube, and played at recent live shows..
you cannot defend the indefensible. the issue isn't sampling , it's that the old boy 'kath' invents stories about how he got those sounds and is quoted in interviews lying that he hadn't heard of chiptune meanwhile he's sampling the shit out of it. crystal craps other sample choices are lame.. 'the message' haha...yeh you have to credit that cos every other old dj like kath did it 20 times and probably dont even know it was liquid liquid 1st :P

You're wrong about everything. The band did not put the songs on myspace, their label Lies Records did. Myspace.com/liesrecords. The band does not play any of the 2004 tracks live because the band has gone on the record saying they hate the old songs. I have read interviews with Kath where he talks about great 8bit bands. There's an interview with Kath from 2007 that explains that Insecticon won't be on their CD because their label can't find Lo-Bat for permission. Liquid Liquid did White Lines, not The Message.
  • dr ops · 1 year ago
hi to the above, yes it was white lines of course .. do you have a link to that interview where he says their looking for lobat? cos i haven't heard about that one. that would show they were trying. why haven't they said this before?
  • janet · 1 year ago
no tickets at the door on that date? NONE? ZERO?
  • To the above · 1 year ago
Hi Dr. ops. The interview says something like "Many songs won't be on the album because we can't clear the samples in time, for example the Lo-bat samples." I read it a year ago. I will search for it and put the link here when I find it.

Well.... as an "older guy" who saw great shows at the Roxy,(back in the day).... such as Genesis, Neil Young, Springsteen, Bob Marley and the list goes on and on and on..... what the hell happened to this once GREAT venue. It's been reduced to high school caliber garage bands!!! WHY has this happened??? Still great location!!!

I have a longtime plan to open up a club to rival those old days in O.C. But, WHO is running this show?? What happened to that great old concert hall?????

Someone who knows... please send me an email. Even my sons band (Great Glass Elevator) played there a year or 2 ago, and it was a joke!!!!!! A BAD joke !!!!

Doesn't anyone there know what they're doing??? Is this what they REALLy want the Roxy(world fame, once!!!) to be like??

If the show really is all ages, why does it say "2 drink min" on the actual ticket itself? =/
  • nic · 1 year ago
Um, last time we check a coke or water was still a drink.
  • steph · 1 year ago
sold out? Advanced and at the door?
  • Javier · 1 year ago
Even if there sold out on ticketmaster is it still possible to buy them from the ticket window on the concert day?
  • nic · 1 year ago
Sold Out. No more tickets. Sorry.
